Now Accepting Board Nominations!

In accordance with DISC’s bylaws, our October 2017 Annual Meeting (date and location TBD) will bring a full Board election.  Our current Chair, Ashley Peebles, has served two consecutive, successful terms, and is therefore ineligible for re-election. Thank you, Ashley, for your service to DISC!  Linda Bailey is the current Vice-Chair, and Marcia Fox is serving as both the Parliamentarian and interim Secretary-Treasurer, following Rebecca Bobola’s departure last December.

DISC is accepting nominations for ALL positions (Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary-Treasurer, and Parliamentarian) for our upcoming election.  If you are interested in nominating yourself or someone with a passion for protecting Delaware’s ecosystems from invasive species, please send nominees to Marcia.Fox@state.de.us by September 15, 2017.

DISC is always looking for fresh faces from our membership to become more actively involved with the organization.  This allows for new ideas for DISC meetings, outreach events, membership engagement, etc., and is an invaluable part of the growth and sustainability of DISC.  In addition, Board involvement is an excellent networking and career-building opportunity.  Keep in mind that although many of our Board members work for State agencies like DNREC and DDA, those credentials are NOT necessary to serve on the Board!

We hope you, as DISC members, will consider yourselves and your colleagues for nomination!
