Available grant opportunities for invasive species projects in Delaware
The Richard King Mellon Foundation has recently released a Request for Proposal (RFP) to fund projects designed to slow or stop the spread of harmful invasive plants in the United States.
The deadline for application is September 9, 2022 by 12:00pm.
This RFP focuses on the following three areas:
- Strengthening Programs Limiting Invasive Plants in the Nursery Trade and Retail Outlets
- Promoting Voluntary Efforts Through Outreach and Education
- Integrating Warming Temperatures and Climate Change into Prevention and Early Detection/Rapid Response
2021 DISC Small Grants Program
The 2021 RFP is closed – look for information about the 2022 small grant competition
The Delaware Invasive Species Council (DISC) is offering a small grants program and encourages interested groups and individuals to submit proposals for projects that address an invasive species problem in Delaware. Approximately $2,000 is available to fund one or several projects with a start date of January 15th, 2022 with a one year completion deadline. Please refer to the RFP for complete details.
All proposals are due by 5 PM on December 31st, 2021.

The Mid-Atlantic Panel on Aquatic Invasive Species “is offering a small grants competition and encourages interested groups and individuals to submit proposals for possible funding… [MAPAIS] encourage[s] broad participation from groups and individuals concerned about AIS issues in the mid-Atlantic region. A proposal submission must address an AIS problem.”
