Tree of Heaven Colony Removal, Treatment, and Post-Treatment
– Town of Magnolia, Delaware –
The Town of Magnolia is targeting critical post-treatment of an invasive colony of Tree of Heaven trees in the heart of residential properties in the town. In April of 2021 the Town Council was informed about a colony of 15 fully-grown Tree of Heaven trees as well as saplings. The Council was briefed by University of Delaware Extension and Delaware Department of Agriculture and Council members decided to proactively prevent the further spread of this invasive species.
In November of 2021, the trees were removed, and initial post-treatment was performed. It was determined that due to the size of the infestation, a second post-treatment was needed. This project will target that second post-treatment as well as outreach to the community.
